ROTC LLC

In partnership with the Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC, the ROTC LLC brings together students and cadets that are wishing to pursue a career in the Army or the Air Force. This residential community provides an opportunity build strong relationship with other cadets and get to engage together outside of ROTC-related events.

  4. Advisor Brief Biography: Capt Rivers is the Recruiting Officer and AS300 Instructor for AFROTC Det 295. He has been in the Air Force nearly 19 years, serving as a Financial Management Officer and multiple staff jobs before coming to instruct at UofL.
  5. Advice for LLC/TC Students: My advice to our LLC students is to take full advantage of the opportunities you are afforded by living with students that have similar goals and outlooks in wanting to serve in the Air and Space Force. Many of our cadets have found a sense of family in the Detachment and the LLC is an extension of that feeling.

    • Received a commission through the Cumberland College Army ROTC program in 1989
    • Served 28 years both Reserve and Active
    • Tours in Iraq 2004-2005 and Afghanistan 2009-2010
    • Retired from the USAR with the rank of LTC in 2017
    • Scholarships and Enrollment Officer for UofL 2018 – present
  5. Advice for LLC/TC Students: Take life one day at a time, all obstacles can be overcome with persistence. Be careful not to overwhelm yourself with classes your first semester, use that time to adjust to college and your new normal.
