Parks
Discover Louisville’s parks system, which includes 120 parks covering 13,000 acres of land.
There are plenty of opportunities to spend some quality time with Mother Nature and get your green on. Louisville Metro Parks include more than 120 parks, including Iroquois, Cherokee and Seneca Parks and Jefferson Memorial Forest. The Parklands of Floyds Fork has four major parks spanning 4,000 acres, and the ever-growing Waterfront Botanical Gardens is a gardener's delight with a stunning view of downtown Louisville.
Our park system, which covers 13,000 acres of land, also includes 17 parks and six parkways designed by Frederick Law Olmsted – famous for his work on New York City’s Central Park. Louisville is home to one of only four completed Olmsted systems in the world.
