Art History (Minor)

Build a strong foundation in global art from ancient to contemporary times. Students gain critical skills in visual analysis, historical context and cultural understanding, complementing majors across the humanities and arts.

Offers study of global visual culture across periods and regions, from Pre-1750, After 1750 and to Non-Western traditions. Students take foundational courses and advanced electives at the 300- and 500-levels, developing skills in research, analysis and critical thinking. This minor enhances understanding of art’s cultural and historical contexts and complements majors in humanities, arts and related fields.
