New Employee Orientation group touring Belknap Campus out front of Grawemeyer Hall

Your UofL Journey Starts Here

Welcome to UofL – We're Excited You're Here!

Your first day is just the beginning, and we’re here to make it a great one. You’ll spend Day 1 at New Employee Orientation, where you’ll get the tools, connections, and insights to start strong. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to prepare - from what to expect at orientation to helpful tips for navigating campus and settling into your new role.

Held in person each Monday*, you have the opportunity to meet other new employees, get an overview of the university’s culture, structure and points of pride, as well as a run-down of all the details to get you started including benefits, payroll, parking and so on.

All the Details

Preparing for Orientation Day

We will help you take care of getting most things done at orientation, but there are some things you can do to prepare.

1

Activate Workday account

You should receive an email to activate your new account with the WorkdayHR system. Once you do, please follow the steps in the email you receive to get started and get your UofL userID and set up a password. This is an important step to start your onboarding with your I-9 and payroll information. For any questions, reach out to HR Services.

2

Get your documents ready

To complete your I-9, you must bring original ID documents in person when meeting with HR Services at orientation. Review the list of acceptable documents before you arrive.
